A lesson in harmony

Jack Sprat was constitutionally averse to adipose tissue. In sharp contrast, his wife was quite partial to it, and eschewed altogether the muscular kind.

Now, in many marriages, such dichotomous diets can provoke division among the conjugal pair, but not in this case. In the Sprat household, potential division was resolved into harmony through mutual cooperation, as follows:  While each party independently pursued his/her own dietary proclivity, their combined actions invariably resulted in a pristine platter, thereby eliminating altogether that scourge of domestic harmony, the washing-up.
