Separation

— Come and be my Tweedledum,
and I’ll be your Tweedledee.
We’ll trip the light fantastic
in a world of harmony.

— How come you didn’t ask me first,
which role I want to play?
Why must I be Tweedledum?
but have it your own way!

— Ok, you be Dee, and I’ll be Dum,
there’s no disparity.
The underlying metaphor
is similarity.

This is just an illustration,
of my sweetheart’s conversation.
She can argue black is white,
and I tell her that she’s right,
just to save us both
from final separation.
