Obituary

So farewell, Selwyn Mortlake-Gossipol,
who has gone to his reward.
The first man to cross the Alps
in a home-made harpsichord.

A life of high adventure
brought to a sudden close,
just as Selwyn was re-tuning
for the lofty Balbeccoes.

Selwyn’s name will be remembered
for his noble high ideals,
and the fact that he was crazy
as a sack of conger eels.
